Variance Requirements

Required Documentation from Owner of Property

  1. Architectural plat drawn to scale showing all property lines, setbacks, building lines, existing structures, and footprint of proposed project.
  2. Detailed drawings showing elevations, material type proposed for use, and renditions of proposed project.
  3. Signed letter from the property owner explaining in detail why the variance is needed and who will present the variance request to the Town Council.
  4. The owner or representative should attend the Council meeting to answer any questions the Town Council may have about the proposed project.

Town codes, deed restrictions, and ordinances require compliance with the long-term goals of ensuring the Town of Westover Hills has protected its image and personality as a town with spacious lots, large trees, and relatively conservative architecture. Of particular significance are the setbacks for buildings, with the front and side setbacks being most sensitive to change.

The Town Council will address matters of new construction, as well as renovations of existing structures, during the regularly scheduled Town Council meetings.
